Transport Britain Issue 10
This edition of Transport Britain contains big interviews with Network Rail and Transport for the North (TfN).
Michael Flynn, Digital Railway Programme Director at Network Rail, talks about the achievements of Network Rail’s Digital Railway Strategy, which sets out the organisation’s modernisation blueprint.
TfN’s Chief Executive, Barry White, spoke about the sub-national transport body’s ambitions to rebalance the economy by ensuring investment in the north, and how government priorities are changing as a result.
Elsewhere in this issue, we have an in-depth interview focusing on the Global Fleet Champions campaign – set up by road safety charity, Brake – and how it aims to eliminate deaths and serious injuries on Britain’s roads.
Emissions and their effects on our climate continue to be an urgent matter. To that end, we have spoken to the Energy Saving Trust, who have outlined how the transport sector can play its part in reducing energy consumption; and from the Freight Transport Association, Alex Veitch has written about how Britain’s transport sector can be decarbonised.
